Law For Serbia’s Pharmaceutical Companies

The manufacture and trade of drugs and other pharmaceutical products are regulated by the Drugs and Health Products Act (in force since August 1, 2004).

With this law, the Agency for Medicines and Health Products of Serbia was established to bring national regulations into line with EU standards.

Based on its mandate, the agency would be its counterpart to which does business in Serbia in many ways.

The following list shows some of the activities for which the agency is responsible:

  1. Issuing licenses for the trade-in drugs and medical devices
  2. Carrying out laboratory controls and quality tests of drugs and medical devices,

  4. Monitoring of side effects of drugs and medical devices
  5. Issuing of certifications for the implementation of the Good Medical Practices Policy (GMP) s in the clinical research of drugs and medical devices.
  6. Issuance of the necessary certifications for the export of medicinal products and medical devices in accordance with the recommendations of the WHO
  7. Authorization of the import of unregistered medicinal products and medical devices for the treatment of a patient or group of patients, such as importing drugs and medical devices for scientific research.
  8. Classification of drugs and medical devices,
  9. recording and processing of information on the sale and use of drugs and medical devices
