The Netherlands biotech companies are currently investing billions of euros in the manufacture of medicines, and the trend is rising.

Another leading innovator in biotechnology, particularly cancer treatment, Kite Pharma received EMA approval last year for introducing the first CAR T-cell therapy for certain types of NHL at its location in Hoofddorp near Amsterdam, where it can now produce individualized cell therapies for up to 4,000 patients in Europe per year.
Cancer therapeutics is also the focus of Europe’s largest biotech company Genmab from Denmark, which has a strong RandD activity in the Netherlands. Jan van de Winkel, CEO of Genmab, is a Professor of Immunotherapy at the University of Utrecht (USA), one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands.
