- Question your health care experience
Any applicant who wants to study medicine in the UK should get work experience and reflect on it. For example, think about how ethical it is to perform surgery (critically needed) on someone with dementia if they refuse it.

- Choose the right subjects to study in high school
Medicine is an applied science. To become a doctor, you must be an excellent scientist. When taking A-Level or International Baccalaureate programs, choose relevant subjects. All medical universities ask for test scores in chemistry, and some also ask for scores in biology.
I recommend choosing subjects closely related to health care—for example, chemistry, biology, physics, or math. Many CATS graduates who entered medical school also studied psychology, sociology, public administration, and politics.
