The Pharmacy Technology program prepares graduates for positions working in retail and institutional pharmacy practice settings under the supervision of a licensed and registered pharmacist.
Students who successfully complete the program will have a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pharmacy law, and the therapeutic classification and use of the top 200 prescription drugs. Students will learn how to prepare pharmaceuticals, keep patient profiles or records, prepare sterile products, perform stocking procedures, communicate, and use computers to enter, store, and recall patient information. Each fall semester, approximately 12-14 students are admitted to the program.
Priority registration for technical pharmacy courses is open to all students who meet specific course prerequisites. The Advanced Technical Certificate takes 1.5 years to complete, while the Basic Technical Certificate takes one year.

3. Lewis-Clark State College
LC State, founded in 1893 and located in Lewiston, Idaho, provides a unique and safe learning environment surrounded by the beauty of the LC Valley.
Students can choose from over 130 degrees and certificates, including two- and four-year degrees in both academic and career and technical education fields, while paying the lowest tuition among Idaho’s public four-year institutions. Students who complete the program will have a fundamental understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pharmacy law, therapeutic classification, and use of the top 200 prescription drugs.
Students will learn how to prepare pharmaceuticals, keep patient profiles or records, prepare sterile products, perform stock procedures, communicate and present, and use computers to enter, store, and recall patient information. Students who have completed the Pharmacy Technology certification courses (via LC State’s Workforce Training Program) are also eligible for the certificate.
The courses taken in the Pharmacy Technology certification program will be converted to 34 credits by LC State. The conversion of these credits will cost $340 ($10 per credit transcription fee). To complete the ITC, students must complete six general education core courses in English and communications.
