3. University at Buffalo
A public research institution having campuses in Buffalo and Amherst, New York, the State University of New York at Buffalo is also known as the University at Buffalo (UB) and SUNY-Buffalo.
The college was established as a private medical school in 1846, and it joined the State University of New York system in 1962. It is the SUNY system’s premier institution.
